Wine as the lifestyle.

I keep noticing this when I research new recipes, they way professional women between the age of 35-50 are portrayed with giant, half filled wineglasses, usually in the kitchen preparing super healthy foods Grin flipping their hair around, giggling about how gosh-darn-it craaazy life is..

It's ubiquitous, from influencers to big brand's social media (Ocado really loves that wine = healthy lifestyle schtick), it's a repetitive lifestyle theme in UK TV drama, complete with oversized kitchen island, bifold doors and midnight blue emulsion.
Just trends, sure, but what tickles me is the concept of 'health' constantly dressed up with goldfish bowl sized glasses.... of basically sugar. Buckets of that shit.

I was just perusing a recipe/shopping insta looking for some summer soup ideas and video's of women in Nigella style prairie dresses pretty much dominate the videos and reels; so it's 5pm and you're knocking back several glasses of Sémillon whilst shoving a low carb/high price dish into the oven. I would be semi slaughtered before sitting down, or might forget it's even cooking at that point. I might walk into one of the many glass doors..

God only knows where the family man is in these scenarios, he rarely enters the sacred wine space and possibly lives on pot noodles. She's the wonder woman taking control of her choices and has a wine store to match the colour of any recipe.

Then there's the flip side, where one wonders why those last few pounds won't drop off. I just can't understand it, all I have eaten all day is a home cooked chicken salad and a protein shake. SO busy, so stressed, I think I'll open another bottle.

(Since this is MN, better add a disclaimer that I like a drink and this shit is largely aimed at my demographic. I am slating the lifestyle image and the advertising, not real life women).
