to be a bit annoyed wiith my db

I was talking to him on the phone and for some insane reason ds aged 16 (who is not that keen on db) decided to say something rude to db very near the phone. db heard and put the phone down. I was furious. tore strips of ds and made him phone db to say sorry. ds did(he felt bad as he realised he had over stepped the mark)
so he phones
db answers
ds says "sorry"
db put the phone down.
now I know ds was bang out of order but shouldn't db have just told him off? putting the phone down seems rather childish(db is 48 and no kids)

If he's got no kids he won't fully understand what they can be like. I suppose it depends how rude he was, but your db is starting to act a little like a child.

if he has DCs he does not understand. your DS should not have said something rude, he apologised and that should be the end of it. although it might depend on how rude it was !

DB has no idea how to deal with teens, so you can;t really blame him,and depending on what DS said, he might actually be quite hurt

They are both being childish - but one of them has an excuse. Leave it for a while, your ds has apologised. DB should now let it lie.

the issue is between your ds (who is old enough not to do such things) and your brother (who is old enough to either confront him and say why did u say that? or acknowledge hes only 16 and move on).
have u tried to fone him to continue the conversation you were having?

well ds rang him againe and all is well. I have not spoken to db as I will get a massive lecture. so will wait till he has forgotton about it

It depends what the comment was. If it was something that was just eye-wateringly rude then of course in a perfect World the 48 yr old adult should be the bigger man.

But if it was something designed to hurt then maybe you will have to allow him to be hurt for a little while.
