Hi
looking for some advice as only can find out about named driver accidents online .

My partner is MAIN driver on insurance I am a named driver. He recently had a car accident it was his fault. I am just wondering if it’ll affect my insurance in future if I am main driver ?

Any advice appreciated relationship is on rocky ground so thinking in the future I may just have my own insurance.

Thanks

No. Accidents ‘belong’ to the driver, not the car or other named drivers. You wouldn’t declare it if you were getting your own insurance.

It would affect it if you were adding your partner to your insurance in future.
Many couples who have one car between them will swap over who is the policy holder/main driver every couple of years to keep their no claims bonus going (unless of course one of them drives more regularly - can't encourage fronting)
