To worry my coil is “in the wrong place”

Went for scan on 18th May as having some period issues. Discovered that my coil is “in the wrong place”
when I asked if it’s ok to be left or does it need to be removed, the scanner lady just told me to wait for the report to be sent to the docs.
iv since rang the docs and the receptionist has twice said the doc will get in contact with me, but still, nothing

aibu in thinking I shouldn’t just be left with a coil god knows where. Has anyone experienced this

thanks

Mine was found embedded in my pelvis not long after insertion, had to go under GA to have it surgically removed (never again!) Sorry not much help! 🫣

Ring your doctor, and keep hounding them until this is resolved! Seriously, not a matter to be ignored.

Ducking hell!

Hound your cucking GP until they call you back. This is outrageous.

Double up the contraception until you’re seen. I fell pregnant after my IUD moved down too far towards my cervix!

I will ring them again today. I don’t think it’s right to just be left with no answers like this

I’ve just had mine taken out due to a fybroid pushing it down so in wrong place, was discovered at follow up scan. Was in within a week for it to be taken out and a womb biopsy taken at same time. Was all dealt with very well but I am in Scotland. I’d make sure you are using extra contraception until it’s taken out

Offredismysister · 31/05/2024 08:26

Same as @millymoo1202 I had 1 removed this year which had displaced. It was so low down I could’ve removed it myself. It took me over 2 weeks to chase the GP to sort it. The scan also showed I had a fibroid, so I went to the gynae clinic for removal & another put in. This one has been in since 6th march & I’ve never felt the strings. At my smear last week I asked the nurse to have a look & she couldn’t see them either. So back for another scan.

No its not. Keep calling them. Consider phoning a serial healthy clinic they might be able to help

xxxJess123xxx · 31/05/2024 08:36

I will definitely chase today. I just want some answers x

I can't believe women are still using that medieval form of contraception tbh.

xxxJess123xxx · 31/05/2024 08:41

I can’t use hormones so the copper coil is my only option unfortunately. Waiting for the appointment for husbands snip
