Airport jobs

Does anyone/anyone’s partner work for a London based airport in a senior position? Was just wondering what position/salary can be achieved? We are looking to move to the uk and he’s always worked for airlines in various management positions and is convinced he can earn in excess of £180k per annum but his current salary is equivalent of £65k. I don’t think it’s achievable so am trying to work out if it’s achievable for us to move to the UK.

Thanks.

Most airport jobs are third party and poorly paid.

£185k is a very high salary in the uk, only a minority earn that (across all industries)

Maybe if you're CEO of an airline or something. Not quite sure what position gets those numbers, I only know someone who is a PA in easyJet for one of their C-suite execs and she doesn't get even a third of that despite being pretty well connected.

He would have to be very senior to reach that sort of salary.

Glassdoor has £32-64k for British Airways manager salaries.

The U.K. is not a high wage economy.

I would say that £65k was more realistic for management salaries assuming lots of experience. Much of the work is contracted out anyway

If you’ve been abroad for a long time it can also be difficult to pass a security check.

LOL the prime minister's salary is £160k so I doubt some dude in an airport is going to earn more than that.

CaramelMacchiatoMum · 31/05/2024 09:16

Thanks everyone; he is middle management but I thought his aspirations were unrealistic and after having done some research last night I can’t find a job working for any airline/ground worker anywhere near that salary!

What sort of airport jobs is he qualified for? There are a huge range of jobs in the air industry.

There are ground staff, security, air traffic control, retail staff, regulatory staff, finance, project management, engineering etc..

He could possibly get over £100k for very senior air traffic control position.
