To wonder why these mums keep doing this

I’ve made friends with 2 school mums in my DDs year (reception). One of them said we will have to arrange a play date so I agreed and then we agreed on a mutual day and time. The day came and I hadn’t heard anything so text and got no reply. Monday came and I bumped into her and she said sorry it has been hectic over the weekend. I said that’s fine and we arranged another meet up, the same thing happened. I then asked if she’d be happy to meet up during this week off and she said yes and then hasn’t been back in touch to arrange anything

another mum did the same, invited us round to their house and I told my DD and she was all excited. Got to Friday and she acted as if it was never planned and said ‘have a nice weekend’. I was confused so texted to see if it was still going ahead and got no reply

has anyone else experienced this? I’m confused why these mums are making plans and inviting us to their house to then ignore or act like the plans don’t exist

No, I can honestly say this has never happened to me with any of my 3 DC.

They don't sound very genuine though, so I wouldn't bother with them anymore.

Flaky. Don't bank on it in future unless confirmed
