To be worrying about this cough?

I developed a cough in Italy about 3 weeks ago. It wasn’t too bad but annoying. 2 weeks ago I felt pretty rough, cough still there but hot and achy too. Lost sense of taste and smell for two days but then it came back.
3 weeks on the cough is worse than ever, persistent, constant - I just can’t get rid of it. Lost my voice on Friday and it’s still not fully come back either. AIBU to be starting to worry a bit? Or is it just a lingering cold?

Maybe you had covid? I had it earlier in the year and also had a cough which took ages to go.

You're not alone! I'm 4 weeks in and still on the benylin. Slowly improving but the tickle at night is horrific.

Ah ok, makes me feel slightly better knowing it’s something going around, sorry you’re suffering too. Does the tickle feel like it’s in the top of your chest rather than your throat?

Yes - I recommend benylin night though. Really helps.

I live in Italy & me & several friends have had this terrible cough for weeks....my doctor said there is a virus going around that takes ages to shake

I had a cough for 100 days from December last year to Feb this year. Took ages to shift. Glad to see the back of it but it was really tiresome and I felt embarrassed by it. Apparently 100 day cough is a thing. 🤷‍♀️

I have a very similar illness op. Also lost taste and smell for a few days. The cough is really hard to shake off...and very deep down in my chest
