my babysitter gave my baby (7.5 months old) fries/chips I left snacks so I don’t understand why, they were at a fast food restaurant and gave them to him instead of his snacks (carrot/cucumber sticks) I’m upset think it was not a good thing to feed him and wasn’t necessary am I being unreasonable?

It's a weird thing your brother did taking baby to McDonalds. Different if there were other older siblings when it might have been a treat for them. Agree that a chip is probably less of a choking risk than a raw carrot but you qualified this saying it was cooked. It sounds like your brother thought a 7 month old baby would enjoy McDonalds. Maybe alert him that while it is treat for over 2 year olds, babies of 7 months really don't have a clue.

As most have said, it probably isn't ideal, but then equally it isn't really anything to worry about as a one off. I doubt he wolfed down a whole portion, more mushed a couple in his mouth and squashed them between his fingers.
