AIBU to believe in cursed books?

Lighthearted?

I think I am fairly rational but something odd happened today that has me thinking maybe cursed books do exist.

I was returning my books to the library. I scan the first one to return, all good. I scan my second book and the entire library’s IT system goes bonkers flashing red screens on all the machines and computers with a triangle symbol and then it crashed.

The book I was returning was titled- Cursed Bread

The book was so disturbing, I couldn’t finish reading it. Odd things happened at home too the week while I had it like the bin lids flapping on their own, birds flying into my windows, the tumble dryer disappearing my favourite socks.

So AIBU? Or have you experienced something like this too?

No but I'm going to have to Google what that book is about now.

It’s a book about cursed bread. 🥖

@IbisDancer I just had a quick look. The review says it is a darkly erotic mystery.

Is this a book about a sexy loaf with some weird kinks?

IbisDancer · 24/05/2024 16:21

It has a sexy baker in it and some erotic rumpus. But the book plot is unimportant.

I am more worried about it being cursed and how it’s been messing with my life and then completely, what looked like, possessing the library’s IT system.

What if it takes over the entire county?

The plot is very important. You need to read it again and look for clues on how to break the curse
