I've had a decent career for the past 13 years. I even made it to a fairly senior manager role a few years ago, but after I left that job (6 years ago) I've only been able to land individual contributor roles. As I don't see a proper promotion coming up any time soon, is it crazy that I'm trying to land Head/Director type of roles? I plan to apply for the "manager of X" type of roles, but oddly enough they're not as common.
