Why am I constantly bloated? No matter what I eat, and even if I eat nothing?

I'm 30F. Not on any medications (or oral contraceptives) besides antihistamines. I'm skinny/slender besides the bloating, which is what makes it even more odd. Follow a healthy, mostly vegetarian diet. Barely eat dairy. I also just don't eat very much, in general (not a huge appetite).

I'm bloated when I wake up in the morning, before going to bed at night, even after a bowel movement, etc. I've had a transvaginal ultrasound for an unrelated issue, ruling out scary stuff like ovarian cancer (I assume?). I don't have coeliac disease (have had the blood test). I don't think I have IBS?

Over the past few months, I'm sometimes constipated, which seems to have coincided with the bloating. But tbh even before this, my massage therapist often pointed out that I'm bloated, and the constipation is only a recent issue. I rarely have diarrhea unless I eat loads of dairy or spicy foods (which is why I avoid them). But I'm bloated even when I'm not constipated?!

What can I do?

Any change in bowel movements you should contact your GP just to rule out any bowel conditions.

Might be an idea to speak to a GP about this, probably nothing serious but it would definitely be a good idea to look into what's causing this as it could be any number of things

Have you been on a course of antibiotics? Those can really mess up your gut microbiome which can often cause gastro issues.

Either way, I would try probiotics, as they have been shown to be effective for these kinds of gut issues.

I don't know. I have the same issue. Even if I haven't eaten anything for hours, I will suddenly painfully blow up.

What is the unrelated issue? I have endometriosis which has a tendency to cause bloating.
