To be confused by ice pops/poles

They come in fours, attached to each other.

I put a 'set' of four in the freezer two days ago. One is still liquid.

I put another four in this morning. One is already very close to frozen. Both are the same colour.

Both are in the same bit of the freezer.

Make this make sense!

And no, before anyone says it, it's not the only thing I have to worry about. Yes, it is a first world 'problem'. Yes, because they are attached, I do know for sure that I'm right, and I haven't confused them - two of the two day ago ones have been eaten.

Have I missed anything 😆

Oooh, or maybe vodka!! I would be ok with that... 😁

It's clearly your freezer. Is it very iced up, preventing air movement?

your freezer isnt working

It definitely is. Status update: three of today's four are in a state of frozen, but the two days ago one - still not.

If it wasn't working, surely none of them would be freezing...

It is very clearly not working!

NeverEnoughPants · 21/05/2024 17:58

If it's not working, then how is it managing to freeze all but one thing and keep everything else frozen?

I eat them every week, never had that happen before

Your freezer isn't working properly - if it's not been defrosted lately then maybe it won't be cold enough throughout? What happens if you move the liquid one elsewhere in the freezer?

Wonderwater2 · 21/05/2024 18:10

There's two options either the ice poles are odd or your freezer isn't working

My freezer would freeze an ice pole in a few hours so I strongly suspect yours isn't working. If it's limping on, it might have enough cold to keep things frozen but not freeze them from liquid. Or it might not be reaching the freezer equally

I'd make some ice today, by putting pots of water throughout the freezer and if they aren't frozen in a few hours fix the freezer

NeverEnoughPants · 21/05/2024 18:19

All the ice pops are in the same area.
The ice pop that hasn't frozen has been moved around within that area.

My freezer is freezing the ice pops in a few hours.

So if it's not working, it's being really smart about it, in only not freezing that one even when it occupies a space where it happily froze another!

Don't worry, OP. I have the same thing happening too. My freezer is absolutely fine so I have so explanation for it. I figure it's just the way it's positioned (nestled among other ones), the way a microwave will cook stuff on the outside but leave it raw in the inside.

Love a good ice pop.
