If you work nights, how much sleep do you get between shifts?

Just that really, curious to see what’s the normal amount?

When I worked nights I would get home and take kids to school and go to bed at 10:00 and then get up at 15:00 to go back to school.
it exhausted me and that’s why I no longer work nights .

4 hours if I'm lucky, between school runs.

I luckily sleep great on nightshift, usually around 6-7 hours which is a better sleep than I get at night.

When I worked nights I used to aim to get to bed for 9 and then was up by 12:30/1 . It was ample for me .

@Floralnomad 4 hours sleep was ample for you? I don’t imagine this is true for most people

AmberOtter · 20/05/2024 10:54

5 hours at best. Have to be up for the school run at half 2! A couple of days last week it was 3 hours as I couldn’t sleep! It’s exhausting 🙄

When I'd go from night - night I would sleep as long as I could during the day, usually about 6/7 hours with a little power nap before I left.

From night - day off I'd have a strict 4 hours then get up.
