To consider a career change in mid to late 40s?

How old do people think is realistically too old for a career change? I currently have a fine but boring office job and for a long time have wanted to do something more fulfilling but it offered me security and flexibility and I've just plodded on. My youngest will be 4 next year and I'll have a bit more time and independence hopefully as they'll all be in school but I'll also be 46.

Do it. I did and it's the best thing I ever did! Still in the same field but moved in to a different role and I love it. I was a bit older than you too!

I started a career in my early 50s, which isn't uncommon

Life is too short to do a job you're bored with.

I was planning my retirement at 46! Managed to retire at 50.

A 4 year old and a change in career is going to be tough. Definitely doable.

I will be looking into a creative career from now but I don’t expect it to pay much.

What are your passions in life?

What sort of thing would you get fulfilment from?
