To panic about toxic gases from new pizza oven

Am feeling so stupid - bought a new indoor pizza oven yesterday, plugged it in and realised after 20mins that there was a really toxic smell in the kitchen. My 2 yo and 5 yo were sitting there with me, we had no windows open. Realised instantly that there would be some toxic chemical gases burning so took them out immediately. Spent all of last night googling and am now worried that they’ll both get cancer and my anxiety is off the scale. DH thinks I’m totally over reacting.

AIBU appreciating that there is nothing I can do about it now 😥

I don’t think they will get cancer from a brief exposure to a toxic smell. Was the pizza oven faulty or was it just because it’s new? Did you forget to remove a plastic cover or something?
