Please help -Need to fix curly hair method gone wrong

Posting for traffic! My daughter is a flower girl today. So I got her hair done last night as there wouldn’t be time this morning. She has fine flyaway hair with soft curls. I asked the hairdresser to give her a curly girl haircut and to bring out her natural curls.

But it looked like it’s wet and the coils felt hard before bed last night even though the hairdresser spent ages drying it with a diffuser ! It looks like it’s too much gel in it.

how can I fix it so it looks like it’s dry and doesn’t have the hard feeling without re washing and drying it myself. I don’t have the expertise and I’m afraid of it being the usual flyaway frizzy if I do it. I wouldn’t have enough time if I brought her back to the hairdresser!

any advice please? She is still asleep and I want to have a plan before she wakes up! She slept in a bonnet last night. Thank you so much

Scrunch the hair with a flannel/microfiber cloth. You're supposed to get rid of the hard cast by "scrunching out the crunch" do not brush it whatever you do. Maybe the hairdresser assumed that sleeping on it would do the scrunching effect without ruining it.

With my hair it looks hard and crunchy for a while and then reverts to soft. Don’t may just naturally do it overnight.
But if not I find wetting my hair slightly and scrunching the curls in agin works. When it dries they are usually softer and bouncier.
Dont rewash it - curls are generally better the second day

I probably would wash and start again. This is a great product for curly hair

Just scrunch out the crunch, it will look great.

The hairdresser has given you exactly what you asked for, gel forming a cast on the curls is the holy grail of curly girl.

Scrunch it all out with your hands and it will be fab.

The whole point of gelling it overnight is that it’s soft when you wake up the next morning but still holds the shape. I recon she’ll be just fine

I’m still panicking here It looks awful! I’m gutted. I’ve scrunched but it looks so scraggly and wet curls. I’m going to wet it a bit ow and if that doesn’t work I’ll wash

I wet my hair each morning and brush with the Denman brush then re scrunch. It looks fab after it dries off.
