Missing my kids holiday

My 2 DDs are booked to go to Portugal with the in-laws for a week soon.
It was incredibly generous for them to book this trip and want to take them away for a lovely holiday. They will be staying in a villa with a nearby pool.
as the date comes closer I feel sad I will not get to see their experiences and miss out on the memories they make.
it will be my youngest daughters first plane flight and beach type holiday.
We have not been able to afford a holiday of this kind since Covid and cost of living etc but I agreed to them going so they do not miss out.
I hinted at booking to join and my older DD reassured me that’s it’s ok that is Nanny’s holiday. I know they will have fun but I’m just sad I can’t provide this myself for them at the moment.
Just having a moment as I gather holiday bits for them.

Yanbu, I think your feelings are valid and I can imagine why you feel sad. But look at the bright side, your dds have such loving GP's who want to spoil them, and more importantly your dd's feel secure and comfortable to be away from you. That's a good thing.
