Bikini line problems

I'm going on a 2 week family holiday with DP, his parents, 2 BILs and their partners. We're staying in a villa with a pool that's right by the beach, so will be spending a lot of time in swimwear.

However. My bikini line hair grows so fast and I get thick dark stubble. I'll need to get waxed the day before I go and hairs will start noticably growing back within 3 days. If I shave, I get horrendous ingrown hairs so I'll just have to leave it. I can't afford laser treatment and a bit worried about getting it anyway because of stories about poorly trained technicians etc.

I love swimming and so sick of this and really anxious and self-conscious about it - I wish I could just carelessly whack on a swimming costume and enjoy myself, but I need to carry out meticulous maintenence checks every time I get into swimwear! I usually wear a swim shortsuit to my local pool to cover up the issue, but I don't want to spend most of the time wearing unattractive, practical swimshorts when everyone else will be in lovely bikinis! Any advice welcome!

Wax strips? Can get them from Poundland and Boots etc. Warm them up with your hands and then just put on the hairs and wax them off.

I get my husband to do most of my waxing for me! 😆

@IamSlave it doesn't sit tight on you. It feels like a normal swim suit.

I have the same type hair as you OP but personally I just don't care that much about wearing so little clothing that people can easily see my pubes.

I wear legsuits or tankinis/costumes with swim shorts and I don't worry or feel anxious, I enjoy my holidays.

If you’re already waxing regularly, then the epilator won’t hurt more. Also go for a wax pre holiday then run the epilator over every few days( or day if you need) then it’s only picking up a few hairs each time so much less painful

But I still can’t say how much better it is to use the at home IPL. It really is fantastic and can do it on your own schedule - which is why I started with an epilator years ago. I just can’t be bothered getting to appointments and this I can do in the evening when I actually have some time. I have the braun one, been using since the covid years and barely have to do anything now

Another fan of IPL here. Had so much black hair. Got rid of most of it 8 years ago (salon). Wish I’d done it earlier. Go for it.

I haven’t read every post but this stuff really works (or the cream version is good too - absolutely stinks, but will work on even the most stubborn hair)

Long term I agree with PP’s - laser is the best thing I’ve ever spent money on

IPL hair removal! I had the same problem and ever since I bought Braun ipl, I haven't experienced these issues :)
