Not buying from small businesses?

I’d love to shop local and from independent businesses but why is the service always so shocking.

The amount of times I’ve had to chase up requests. Wanted to do a large order from a local cake shop, well in advance and happy to pay deposit. They didn’t come back for over a week and by that time I’d found someone else.

Hairdressing appointment (works from home on her own), she cancelled as she was too tired.

I’ve now just had to send another chaser to a local store.

I’m not expecting Amazon type deliveries and responses in the hour but come on

Not all small businesses are like that. Keep trying! Honestly (as a small business owner myself), some of us really value and do put best for our customers. I have occasionally had to change an appointment with a customer, but I would never do that because I'm tired! The last time was because of a medical appointment. Although I do wonder if she has an underlying health condition, and that's why she chooses to work the way she does).
