Slurping from the plate

This is light hearted...

My DD17 and I have had a disagreement as I think it's rude to lick the plate and loudly slurp sauce off her dinner plate at the end of a family meal. Head bent into the table

She thinks it's fine and only rude in a restaurant.

Whats the difference from slurping from the plate to slurping from your spoon? Why is one eating your dinner and the other 'disgusting'?

Hmm who is she willing to expose this habit to ? Her work friends a husband her own children ? It's not going to go well .
