I’m a teacher but we aren’t told of a 24 hour rule after stomach sickness, just not to go in with any symptoms. I had diarrhea last night so I didn’t go in today. It’s improving now but still there.
I have a feeling I’ll be feeling better in the morning (maybe not but most likely). I’m already considering staying off in case it comes back, and I’m at work. Plus I’m feeling a bit dizzy from going to the bathroom Every time I so much as drank water for the last while! AIBU? If no symptoms go in? Oh it’s important to say it’s from food poisoning (sudden onset the evening after takeaway and other people who ate it sick too). So it’s not a contagious cause. I still feel I should take the day to be fully clear though.

You’re not 100a%, and are still unwell. Stay off.

NHS guidance is 48 hours after symptoms stop - I’d stick to that. Food poisoning could still be contagious for others…

I'd stay off - it's hardly a job where you can dash to the loo if it comes on and I can't imagine having g to stand in front of a class knowing your stomach was playing up, worrying about the worst case scenario.

It's also disruptive for the kids if you go back then have to go home at lunch so best to let supply cover tomorrow and go back when you feel sure you're better - at least 24 hrs after symptoms, ideally 48hrs
