To be ruminating over Taylor Swift's "I can do it with a broken heart"

I just keep thinking how true the lyrics must be for her and how dark the song actually is.

And then the the lyrics for Clara Bow run along a similar theme...

I know not all her lyrics are actually autobiographical but these 2 hit hard on what her experience must be like.

Not exactly 'dark' lyrics. I just googled them. Jist of it is that she split up with her boyfriend & still had to go to work & put on a face, right? Big wow, who hasn't had to do that?

She's a real tough kid, don't worry about her!

I agree that the lyrics aren't that dark. But when you say "who hasn't had to do that" - isn't that the point? She wouldn't be as popular if people couldn't relate to her songs.

She can handle her shit

I love the lyrics!

Her performances of the song in Paris really show how much the lyrics mean, can't wait to see it live.

If you look at a lot of her lyrics they're really hard hitting, people dismiss them often but there's a lot of meaning in there.

I love this song so much, it's so catchy, I'm predicting it to be a real summer anthem! Going to see her in Dublin and hoping she plays it

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 13/05/2024 19:28

I absolutely love this song.

It's on the set list 🙂

@ILikeItWhatIsIt I think it's different than other jobs when you suck it up and turn up even though you're miserable - most jobs don't involve so much enthusiasm

And I think the lyrics allude to more than just a break up but the weight of appearing so happy all the time no matter what... day in and day out year upon year spanning a career that started when she was so young.
