To expect dh to decide on holiday

We're on a holiday that my dh wants to do every year. I don't mind coming and he loves it. However the weather is dreadful today (uk) and we can't do the planned activity. Aibu to be sitting it out on the sofa rather than thinking of something alternative to do? I'm tired of being the creative one particularly when this is his choice to be here. Boring myself here though. Aaaghhhhh.

Why does he want to do the same holiday every year? I assume it’s to do The Activity you mention.

What is DH doing at the moment? Chilling, looking for an alternative thing to do or looking at you expecting you to come up with an agenda?

Yes The Activity that I am supporting as an act of love. 😊

Chilling but I suspect I will break first thus he will not need to make a decision.

Could his act of love be to do it himself and you go to a spa 🤪

Bookworm1111 · 14/05/2024 07:51

What kind of holiday would YOU like to go on?

Hadalifeonce · 14/05/2024 07:54

Would you be open to just sit on the sofa to read a book so you are doing something, if your DH wanted to do something, he would have to think/research it?

Mylovelygreendress · 14/05/2024 07:54

Do you not have a book with you ?

Riverlee · 14/05/2024 07:56

I get fed up of being ‘the one that makes all the decisions on holiday’ also.

Either let him decide, or choose something that you really fancy, but he may not.

Justsewsew · 14/05/2024 08:51

@NosyJosie I was thinking of doing exactly that! I don't mind my own company but I do get a bit boring after a couple of days with myself 😄.

@Bookworm1111 we're very fortunate in that we will also do a holiday that is more my choice later in the year which is why I suck this up. He's a good bloke and I don't mind supporting him to do this. It's just less interesting if the weather is crap

Well, what do you normally do when he is doing the thing?

Justsewsew · 14/05/2024 08:57

@Hadalifeonce I was reading yesterday morning. I read a lot but was wanting to do a little more. @Mylovelygreendress I do - I have 2 actually 😁.
@Riverlee we ended up going for lunch and then sightseeing. Finished with fish and chips on the beach in the evening so a pleasant day in the end. 😊

@bridgetreilly I usually do a bit of the thing with him but when the weather is this bad neither of us can do the thing - nor would I want to - and then I have lunch, read, explore the area etc. Not as pleasant to explore in a howling gale
