To swim and bring tired DC with?

Trying to not drip feed so bear with.

DC off school today, mixture of persistent cough and lack of sleep due to disabled sibling keeping the household up all night.
School are aware of the home issues and sympathetic. In the middle of a whole process with housing ect but stuck as we are for now.

DC is napping now, will have to go out with me later on siblings school runs and to the shops for food.

I recently started swimming 3 times a week,
AIBU to bring DC along to watch me today?

(Missed a swim last week due to helping DH out and already missing one this week due to other family commitments that have sprung up)

Wouldn't think twice if it was an inset day, there's safe seating areas poolside and DC swim themselves so familiar with the pool.

So
YABU -miss it today
YANBU- it's 20 minutes of poolside book reading for DC - go!

How ill are they? I would feel a bit bad if I thought they would pass on illness but otherwise seems like something you have done previously and it sounds like you have a lot to deal with and exercise/time for you is important

Could they go into school for the afternoon, after napping this morning?

Otherwise, it depends on how they feel about it and if you think they are contagious. It sounds as if the swim would be really good for you, so try to make it happen, even if it involves moving some things around or DH taking over kids and you going out.

How old are they? A small child I wouldn't, but an older one who is happy to sit quietly with a book I might.

But if they are well enough to be out and about, I'd take them to school TBH.

I would drop them at school after their nap(assuming they are not unwell just tired with a cough) and enjoy your swim.
