I am inexplicably irritated when people say “no, but I’ve heard good things” when asked about a restaurant / bar / town / city / activity / holiday destination.

I have no idea why, I think it just sounds really cheesy.

Although everyone has their thing. Mine is people saying "you've got to laugh, haven't you?"

That doesn’t bother me but “you couldn’t make it up” does - usually it’s something very mundane which you absolutely could make up!

I always found the use of "lol" in messaging very irritating. I am completely aware that it is a me problem. It seems to be dying out now anyway. YABU and so am I, but sometimes things just inexplicably irritate you.
