I froze some chicken breasts in October and am defrosting it just now. AIBU to think it's fine? DH doesn't think so.

Of course it's fine, as long as you're defrosting them safely.

Joking aside, it’s fine, they’re within recommended freezing time and unless you think the freezer may have been faulty this is exactly what freezing is for.

No, they're not unsafe to eat beyond 9 months. It just means that after 9 months the texture/quality might deteriorate, e.g. freezer burn.

Microbiologically safe - yes (assuming it was OK when it went into the freezer, and you thaw it safely).

A bit freezer-burned with texture change - possible, but unlikely within that short time.
