To think a decent person leaves a note when you damage another car

Been for a GP appointment and the parking spaces are admittedly tight. I parked leaving a decent amount of room on both sides.

someone has left a fuck off massive dent/scratch across both doors on the drivers side of my car. And no note! The lady that’s just parked next to me has only just come in as I’ve got back to my car so I know it wasn’t the car that’s parked there now.

GP have just said that they have a sign up saying they are not liable for damaged vehicles and they are parked at their own risk.

why are some people so shit

I don't know why some people are so shit but because this has happened to me I always take a photo of the cars on both sides of me when I park in tight carparks. It's not fool proof - especially if I'm away for a long time but if I'm nipping in and out of the shops or the doctors it makes me feel better to know that I'd have the details if they damage my car.

And the one time I did think I caused damage to a car in an airport carpark, I left a note with my number on it. They got in touch and told me that the small mark was already there and not to worry about it. When I went to renew my insurance I was told that a claim had been made against my car by those same people. My insurance did not tell me about it!!!

Especially in this day and age of cctv everywhere!
these people have no morals and are just plain stupid too .

my car was hit whilst parked on the road side, written off. The neighbours cctv showed a small delivery lorry from a big local company taking off the front end, he stopped for a minute or so ( so obviously realised what he’d done) then drove off. He had to drive past it on his way back from the delivery too.
he lost his job and was reported to the police.

Not many people seem to have a pen/pencil/paper on them these days. But in your situation, they could/should have popped into the surgery and left their details there if they couldn't borrow a pen!

Front and back dash cams that activate when the car is parked, but sense movement.

I recently scraped along someone’s car in a residential road (totally my fault, I was upset as rushing to hospital as my Mum was ill and wasn’t concentrating as I should have been). I left a note and when the owner called me she couldn’t believe I had left my details and thanked me so profusely.

I thought everyone would as it’s just the decent thing to do!
