I'm not really sure where to begin but if anyone has any recommendations for self help type books re anxiety and low self esteem I'd appreciate some pointers? There's so many I'm not sure where to start.

I've always known my self esteem is on the lower side but it's come to my attention recently that it's on the floor and it's really driving my anxiety. I'm scared of everything, pessimistic, worry about my ability to make even simple decisions, can't bear to think ahead to the future.

I'm in therapy already but we've only just really started on this particular topic and I don't have a good understanding of it. I'm a "knowledge is power" type and want to do some reading. Thank you in advance.

You have the knowledge within you now. It just needs to be released. This knowledge observes the mind. It knows that the mind is not real, but is made up of imagination. The imagination is illusory. Once seen as unreal the Truth of who you really are is experienced.
Ask your self what is it that knows you have low self esteem and anxiety. It cannot be the mind. because the mind is creating the image of low self esteem and anxiety.

Read "The Power of Now" by Eckart Tolle. He went through a similar experience and woke up to the Truth.

Overcoming Low Self Esteem - Melanie Fennell I think. I read it a couple of times, didn't do the exercises but it seemed to help a bit anyway. I'm sure there's a whole series of 'Overcoming...' books.

I was going to recommend Fennell, we use it NHS talking therapy services and people find the material helpful

Feel the Fear (and do it anyway) - can't remember the Author but it's a good book.
Also 'Making Friends with...Anxiety' - the author runs a FB page (if you do SM) which is useful; lots of tips and ideas to help you navigate through.

Thanks so much all- have downloaded a few samples to see what "clicks" with me best.
It's a bit overwhelming so trying to take a gentle approach.
