by the coming weekend? It's in celebration of the DCs birthdays.

I've got 12 relatives coming for lunch on Saturday.

Then I've a party for 35 children on Sunday. Not at my house thank god!

But I'm starting to feel stressed and worried I've forgotten this, that and the other.

And it's a lunchtime birthday party on the Sunday. Am I responsible for feeding the adults too? Eeeeek. Best sort a sandwich platter.

It's like organising a wedding. It's ridiculous.

Why 12 relatives for lunch on Saturday? Just get down to M and S and buy a load of sandwiches.

NO YANBU its natural cos you want the best party for DCs and atmosphere for guests, can you rope in DP/H and grandparents to help?

WinkyWinkola · 02/04/2008 20:43

Because if I didn't invite the 12 relatives, they'd feel slighted and offended and it would be a grudge nursed for decades.. . . . . . .But I couldn't have 12 random adults at the party for 35 kids. No room so I had to do two separate occasions.

Write LISTS! On a spreadsheet of possible.

You can't go wrong with a list.

Take a deep breath and try not to get stressed.

We just hosted our DBs Naming Ceremony and birthday party this weekend with the same number of kids, their parents and the family (for future ref you can do kids/family party!!!).

You need to work out what you are doing exactly and write lists. What are you doing for the lunch, what food you doing for the party, what other shoppiung will you need. Then jsut write yourself a schedule of what you need to do and when.

Re kids party, keep it simple! Not sure what age your kids are but I di fruit and salad veg platters, sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps and biscuits and then the birthday cake. If I do a lunch party, I do always provide some sort of nibbles for the adults but as a parent I don't expect this.

It will be lovely what ever you do!!!
