Shamelessly posting for traffic.
I used to have a Samsung phone. All photos organised into folders. Kids, pets, holidays etc. We also are renovating our second house and I love (need to!) keep progress pics. I do this for every room, outside, garden etc. I sometimes post on my Instagram for family and friends following progress before and after reels etc.
Anyway I now have a Google phone and obviously have Google photos. A bit of a change without having any local albums but really impressed with the search function and facial recognition etc (I can see how this negates the need for albums).
I still create 'albums' because I want to be able to find pics of, for example, the progress in the kitchen.
Tonight I want to make a reel showing progress so far. But from the Instagram app I obviously can't see any of the 'albums' I've made - just the whole camera roll. I have thousands of pics and it's impossible pick out the relevant pics after a year of work when they're mixed in with everything else.
So I tried working from the gallery instead, selecting the pics then opting to share reels. Problem is this automatically sequences them from most recent so you don't get the before/after affect. I can't rearrange them at this point.
It's driving me nuts. What can I do? Is there a workaround or a trick?
