Depressing start to May bank hol

I know there have been quite a few threads about the weather recently but honestly it's 9 degrees and absolutely lashing rain here in the midlands. I'm finding it's really getting me down this year. The winter seems never ending. Rather than put the heating on am getting into bed with a hot water bottle.

I’m probably in the minority here but I envy you - I hate the summer and I would have it be autumn/winter all year round if I could 😬😂

I can beat that OP. I was in a car accident this afternoon. Guy in a Range Rover rear-ended me at about 50 miles an hour. My car is probably a write-off. I'm still shaking 2.5 hours later

We've had two days this week with no rain and on both days I felt like a much nicer person! It made such a difference to not be soggy, wearing the same clothes and winter coat and trying to dry laundry inside. Today it's pissed if down all day and it's supposed to rain at some point again tomorrow and Sunday and Monday although hopefully it's a bit warmer... I'm beyond sick of trying to be upbeat and positive about yet another miserable rainy day.

I'm not mad into the heat I just want some brightness not this constant grey sludgey sky and wet rain. I love crisp bright days I wouldn't even mind if it was a bit chilly.

Join right in! 👋😂 honestly I would much rather spend my time reading books whilst listening to the rain, binge watching tv series with a hot water bottle, having a cold and crispy outdoor walk than be overheated in the sun, insects and wasp’s everywhere and it still being light outside at 10pm - no thank you 😅😂

I managed to knock off early this week on the one day we had with truly decent weather. It was transformative to get some sunshine.

Then today I walked into town and even wearing a mid-thigh length coat with a hood that was totally waterproof the exposed parts of my legs were drenched enough that they took 2 hours to dry off. My heating is on and I am officially grumpy about the weather.

If it's any consolation, my school have a full 2 day mock Ofsted next week. I am a curriculum leader and being deep dived Tuesday.

I have lost count of the hours of prep I have done this week and know I need to read over everything again this weekend.

Bank holidays are notoriously bad for weather. The weeks either side are much better.

True, but I'm going with it. Wood burning stove on, red wine in a glass and dinner in the oven. Trying to be cosy instead...

NW Scotland, land of the wet. We got up to 24 degrees here, and sunshine. Sorry. But that no doubt means this weekend is our summer and it'll be rain and cold until winter!

My poor lovely car. It's the first car I've ever had new and that was MY car. And now I'll probably never see it again. I'm really gutted. And it's horrible being in an accident.

OP I know exactly how you feel it’s such depressing weather! I am very weather motivated/mood related and this year’s weather is bringing me down! Fingers crossed for next week!

I don’t admit this often but I love rain and this weather is what I enjoy the most. I spent 21 years living in boiling hot countries and I don’t miss the sun at all. Hearing people talk about sunshine and how miserable the rain is makes me wonder if there is something wrong with me!
