My daughter (9 years old now) is sleeping, actually everyone in the house is-OH and Dog. Except me. Am up with a temperature of 38.1. Might not seem high but I am really scared

Aw bless you. You'll be okay. Have you taking some paracetamol. X

yvonneb13 Very many years ago I used to have my babies in my bed when they were ill, so that I could stroke them to calm them while being half asleep.

lucywho123 · 01/05/2024 02:58

Have you tried putting him in next to you OP? Just so you both get some rest? My 3 year old has a sickness bug, she’s asleep next to me. I’ve not slept at all so I feel your pain

yvonneb13 · 01/05/2024 03:02

I've just put him beside me there hoping for the best I don't think he's ill I have no idea the only things I can tbink of are teeth or a regression. He's down to one nap now to and he's fighting that to death to Im drained atm

Oh thank you. Had some about 2 hours ago. Feels like it's coming down now, way too hot to sleep upstairs so am sat on sofa in the lounge, with a wet flannel over my face. Feel very old doing that as my nan always did it.

I think we both deserve lazy days later on, . I have been there with poor sleeping baby- I could count on one hand the number of times she slept all through. Now she can sleep through anything! According to my mum I was exactly the same and never slept, and her dad was exactly the same, so i guess she had no hope of sleeping through.

It does get better I promise,. Have you looked at The Wonder Years as that gives some ideas around when sleep regression happen?

Tinysarah1985 · 01/05/2024 03:08

Times like this co-sleeping is the way to go. Seems to feel better if you're laying down in bed, even if you don't actually sleep

PoppingTomorrow · 01/05/2024 03:29

If he's still not sleeping, can you take him out for some fresh air tor a few minutes? A change might calm him.

PoppingTomorrow · 01/05/2024 03:31

Sorry - you did say you were looking for emotional support rather than potential solution advice.

You'll get through it. It'll be tough but he will fall asleep eventually and you will get through the day at work. Not fun!

DifficultBloodyWoman · 01/05/2024 04:17

No advice, just sympathy and solidarity. 💐

Awaywiththeferries123 · 01/05/2024 04:41

He’s probably coming down with something, my little one used to do exactly that before getting a dose. The Calpol was a good shout.
