To think this situation at work is shit?

In the office I work, working from home and compressed hours is allowed and encouraged, despite us being such a small team and so for the ones left in the office, it can quite often be a busy, stressful nightmare.

Due to a situation next week where people have been authorised annual leave and some are at all day meetings, I am the only one who will be taking phone calls (some of these can be very difficult), meet and greet any visitors to the building (again, can be difficult). I am really sick and tired of having to go above and beyond and not get important stuff done because there aren't enough people in the office. AIBU to have totally had enough?

Yes thats shit. Have you spoken to management, what did they say?

Pheeeeebs · 27/04/2024 10:27

Speak to a manager about the problem and suggest everyone takes turns at being on duty in the office. Two people at any one time. One on phone, one for in person visitors. Make a rota. Suggest this as the solution to the problem you have identified. Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I've not had a chance to speak to management yet as I only realised yesterday that this was happening and there was no management around. I will voice my concerns on Monday though.

We do already have a system where people take duty, @Pheeeeebs but next week three out of the five duty days won't be covered. I will be in, so guess who'll be chipping in to cover?
