To ask for CAMHS notes from years ago?

I spent years in CAMHS from 13-18 and would like to see my detailed records from the first few years.

how is this an AIBU? Just ask and see if you can get them.

You can ask for them
under freedom of information act.
just remember when you read them
that they don’t give the full
picture of your journey … they are often written to be brief, clinical and are no reflection of how many people who would have supported you may have spent extra time working for free at the end of their ‘ shift’ to find something that may help you,
nor will they reflect how those helping you may have genuinely cared for your well-being or how they would worry about you on thier days ‘ off’. I hope you find only positive things in your notes.

It might be a very painful reminder of your bad times too, be prepared for that.

Depending on how long ago this was the notes may have been destroyed.
