To take a couple of days off

Periods..... currently absolutely awful, heavy and painful, upset stomach, headaches, heavy limbs. If I felt this ill with anything else I wouldn't feel guilty about not going to work but because it's period I feel a bit 'just get on with it'.

The last 3 or 4 cycles have massively amped up the 'awfulness' and I'm struggling at work (on my feet, difficult to get a toilet break apart from at lunch which is very hard when I have an upset stomach and feel a bit 🤢

I'm dreading tomorrow....would it really be so bad to have a day or too off? I'm trying to get a GP appointment to see what's caused the change (possibly peri menopausal?) but it's proving quite difficult. I'm not saying I'd do it every month but this is knackering me.

Come on, be honest....I know you will 😬

There are plenty of places where Menstrual Leave is part and parcel of the employee offer. If you are too ill to work then that's that. On your return to work you should let them know the adjustments you need ie more frequent toilet breaks. Menopause seems to be the hot topic at the moment so use it to your advantage.

Of course not! Sounds awful. I’m peri and I’ve not ever had such awful periods. It’s horrid.
