Where is my day off

Started a new job around 3 months ago, workplace is toxic with a capital T. All the teams are feuding. Paperwork is sloppy and at times downright lies, constant tit for tat over who wrote what, and completed what tasks. I've walked into absolute chaos, but so many have left, are on maternity and management are on sick leave so they are desperate. If I left I would be leaving them in even more shit, it's just a nightmare and in hindsight I should have walked after the first day. But here's my aibu, most weekends when I'm supposed to be off I've been asked to come in for training and development days. I did both Saturday and Sunday last weekend and I've been told I need to come in this weekend as well. The training is crucial so it has to be done but aibu in thinking this is taking the absolute piss. Fwiw they are paid but I'm so so tired I need my days off.

I'd ask how I claim the overtime and I'd also look for a new job!

Why aren't the training days scheduled for weekdays?

The Working Time Regulations are still in force (mostly). You are entitled to either a 24 hour rest period every week, or a 48 hour rest period every fortnight, unless in an exempt occupation. If you are going in to work to do your training, it counts as work. So you can't be forced to do this.

It's scheduled for when the trainers are in the offices working their regular days 🙄 so it's mostly everyone else's days off they're taking
