Ron’s Place…I don’t get it

Has anyone else heard about Ron’s Place? It’s a house that Ron designed, some unusual art. It’s obviously testament to his art and it would be a shame if it was destroyed (and it won’t be now). But I don’t know I don’t get how it’s ‘good’ or worth a trip to see?

Are we meant to know who Ron is? Ron Weasley? Ronnie Corbett?

There's lots of 'attractions' that I am not interested in, but others are. I'm pretty sure that's fairly normal.

I saw loads of pictures of this on the news a few weeks ago when it was given 'listed' status. I though 'oh my god no!' Some bloke spent his life painting a rented flat in a strange way and after his death there was a campaign to 'buy the flat and save the art'...... Definitely not something I'd be going out of my way to pay to see (he was a 'local character ' apparently but not famous).

I’d never heard of it but a quick read of the website seems to indicate the aim is now to support others. His art will remain in situ and the rest of the building will house a community based arts project as a legacy to him.
I wouldn’t travel for it but I’d definitely give it a look if I was in the area - especially if they add a cafe…
