My in-laws constantly talk only about themselves and their own family. They have never bothered to get to know me and really don’t care who I am or what I do. They maintain contact with girlfriends/wives etc only because that person is linked to their son. They genuinely don’t give a damn what woman it is as long as their requirements are met.
Ive always hoped that I could become a real friend with my in-laws or a real part of the family but I’ve realised that I will always just be an obligation that serves a specific purpose. AIBU to feel sad about this? Does anyone else experience the same?
