Plucking vs waxing

Can someone please explain the reason why plucked hair grows back faster than waxed hair. Surely it should be the same? When I pluck upper lip hair they grown back in 2 days. When I wax it's 7-10 days

Because you can only pluck hair that you see and wax removes every hair in the area including the "just emerging" and the wispy pale ones you are not able to see with the naked eye.
