I feel really scared. I live alone in a new build and just heard several loud bangs and shoves from what sounded like directly outside at the front. I live alone and I’m pretty much right near the end as there’s still building in progress further up. I also heard a car leave not long after the noises. Scared and now won’t be able to sleep all night

I do have security locks and a chain on door but still scared

Put a chair under the handle if you can.

And call the police if you hear anything more.

Phone police and report it. Explain you are on your own.
Hopefully not what you thought it was but very scary nevertheless.

Hopefully not your property, could have been theft of materials if building works ongoing.

I once had a random demanding a screwdriver at 4 in the morning... scary.

Drivers are literally guessing at addresses

Get an electrician to install motion lights around the house.

Get a security camera at the front door they are mega easy to install. tapo ones don't require a paid subscription which I think ring do.

Unless you are in somewhere extremely rough, I feel a little bit like people don't make loud bangs when they try to break into somewhere.

I have a eufy door cam, it's much better than a Ring, especially for night vision, no subscription either. Also, LED floodlights on motion sensors.

It's more likely someone after building materials, speak to site security.

Definitely report it. We were burgled while we slept a few years ago but we never heard a thing

Thanks everyone. All ok this morning. It was just very loud and made me feel really scared and sounded like it was right under my window. It’s quite a rural area with not much around so no clubs or pubs or takeaway places which made me feel worse. I don’t think it would have been my neighbours as they have a baby and are very quiet so I’m not sure what it was
