EE are giving me free Data

I have a Sim Only contract, which includes 3GB of data. When I log into my EE, it states that this is my plan. I am still being charged the usual monthly amount.

But, when I text 150 to find out how much data I have left, I am told that I still have 90GB left of my 90GB allowance!

The reason I checked is because I have been using more data than usual this month and haven’t had the warning text to tell me I have used up 80% (which I usually get most months).

I think EE must have messed up. What shall I do? Shall I tell them? My greatest concern is that they would charge me for excess data used, although I’m not sure how or if they can do that given they are clearly not tracking my usage correctly, plus I have a spend cap on my plan to specifically avoid any overspending.

WWYD?

Well you’ve answered your own question - there appears to have been an error, you don’t want them to charge you for excess usage so yes, nip it in the bud by phoning and letting them know.

Some people might say leave it, you might get a freebie but EE will be able to show that you have checked your usage & therefore know that it’s on the wrong rate and would be justified in charging you the extra if you continue using it

My EE Everything Pack gives me a free boost every 3 months of extra data (I just text BOOSTDATA and 512MB is added on). You've obviously got a bigger limit than mine but could it be a similar deal? If not, I'd let them know but then I'm a worry pants!

I'd just keep quiet.
