DP and I want to take the whole fam on holiday. A proper nice (as in we get a break) holiday.
I don't want to go self-catering as I'll end up thinking about food, shopping, dishes, crumbs and all the rest.
I want to go somewhere all inclusive where the answer is basically yes to every snack whinge and I don't need to think about everyone's personal needs for 7 measly days... BUT we're 2 adults and 4 children, (2 x 14, 1x 11 and 1x10) and I cannot find an apartment or villa where we can all stay together and be all inclusive for catering... its either S/C villas or 1 adult with 2 kids in 2 rooms. DP and I want to share a bed on holiday! Siblings can share rooms so 3 rooms is all we need...
Can anyone suggest a solution or company that can help with this please?

Muchas gracias 😎

AI hotel. Book 2 rooms. The 14 year olds have their own room and share and you and DP go in a family room with the youngest 2?

LazyDaysy · 20/04/2024 17:00

My solution to this would be to book an adjoining room (you can get these at lots of hotels). Maybe you can find one two bed and one one bed that joins on, but I think usually they’re just one bedroom rooms that connect through a door.

Are the 14 year olds nearly 15? Could you request a room next to each other, state that one adult will be in each room but actually just have the 14 year olds share?

Flamingogirl08 · 20/04/2024 17:03

There's lots of 2 bed apartments and a sofa bed in the living room. Would that work for you?

Frankie2015 · 20/04/2024 17:08

Look on jet2 they have a search for holidays for large families and can filter on all inclusive. Just booked mine from there and got a 2 bed apartment in a hotel.

ghostyslovesheets · 20/04/2024 17:10

First Choice have plenty of AI's with 2 bed family suits - these often have a sofa bed in the lounge

Lemons1571 · 20/04/2024 17:10

Los Zocos in Costa Teguise Lanzarote. Large 2 bed apartments AI.
On the TUI website you can search AI but you have to put number of rooms = 1 into the search (think it’s in the “number of people” section)

Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote do 2 bedroom rooms which have 2 lounges both with sofa beds too which means they sleep 8. AI. Really good. Loved it.

GF gran Costa in tenerife do 2 bedroom suites. Again, AI.

Whenwillilikehimagain · 20/04/2024 17:31

Yep. Impossible. Unless you're loaded or you want to spend your week separated from your spouse.

LBOCS2 · 20/04/2024 17:38

Barcelo hotels have 2x bed plus a living room in some of their hotels. Princess Yaiza has interconnecting suites but it's not AI, it's half board.

With D.C. those ages, I'd do Club La Santa

and go for the full meal plan. Not cheap but seriously good value. In an ecologically sound environment, a beautiful location with absolutely every activity catered for including a blissful wellness centre.

Splash out on one of the newer apartments and make sure at least one of your party does the English speaking tour so you understand how even the more complicated bits work.

Only downside is that I guarantee you will want to go back and as I said, it's great value rather than cheap.

FinallyHere · 20/04/2024 18:28

Edit to add 'I mean splash out on a three bedroom /four bathroom suite'

Seaview, air con , jacuzzi.

Would love one of those but our party just isn't large enough to justify

kirkgate · 20/04/2024 19:30

ikos. Lovely standard and they do two bed apartments with lounge area that sleep 5.

RomeoRivers · 20/04/2024 19:34

Aphrodite hills in Cyprus do AI Villas, so does Green Garden Eco Resort in Tenerife.

Following for more suggestions 😊

GingerKombucha · 20/04/2024 19:46

Domes of Elounda have 3 bed residences but not quite AI (not far off it though - half board with a lounge with unlimited snacks and drinks all day).

She said 'DP and I want to share a bed on holiday! Siblings can share rooms so 3 rooms is all we need...' so she wants a room just for her and her DP, she doesn't want the youngest 2 in the room.

Festival Village Apartment Costa Dorada, Spain

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 20/04/2024 19:58

Cruise? We don't do AI, but we went on a cruise as a big family group and it was great!

Pineapplewaves · 20/04/2024 20:09

Go onto a holiday website like TUI or Jet2, put your details into the search box, type in how many rooms you want and see what comes up. You may have left it too late for this year as family suites/adjoining rooms tend to get booked very quickly and there are on a way few of them in each hotel. If you look at 2025 holidays lots should come up....

Unfortunately most holiday companies class a child over 12 as an adult and require them to have a proper bed not a sofa bed in the lounge.

The alternative is to book a villa but say that you will be eating out everyday and won't be self catering as that isn't a holiday for you.

Mummynextdoor · 21/04/2024 20:11

Jet2 have a holiday at Orka Sunlife in Turkey with a 3 bed roomed apartment - AI.

Start of August

Alittlenonsensenowandthen · 21/04/2024 20:17

Despite the many mil complaints on Mumsnet this is where I can say I have a brilliant one. When my kids were small, she would book a cottage for us all with the express wish to let us have a holiday i.e. she and fil would get up and entertain kids, feed them etc. it was an incredibly selfless and kind act - not sure I'll be quite as good a grandmother!

SantaBarbaraMonica · 21/04/2024 20:18

We get rooms next door to each other and put the 4 kids in one, us in other.

Ducksurprise · 21/04/2024 20:38

Easy jet, TUI etc, put three adults and three children and three rooms.

TheFairyCaravan · 21/04/2024 20:51

Tui Magic Life Fuerteventura do a family room with an interconnecting double room. You could put all the kids in one room and you and DH in another. Magic Life hotels are brilliant, they have quite a few activities and kids clubs going on and are right on the beach. The food isn’t bad for an AI either.

Dbirk · 21/04/2024 21:34

We did this with 4 kids. We got a one bed suite. Us in the main bedroom, smaller kids on pull out sofa in living room and big kids in an adjoining room.
