Will this paint ruin my garage door?

I asked a 16 yo lad about garage paint and felt like he was making things up on the spot. He told me something I know to be categorically wrong re oiling wood so he lost my confidence. Not blaming him, I’ve been there when you make up shit for your Saturday job.

Apparently this paint is suitable for a metal garage. Is it?

If not, if I just buy metal paint will that do the job?

How come you don’t just read the blurb on it, it is fine to use on metal if you use a primer first. And I’ve no idea why you’re asking 16 year old to advise on paint either.
