But just out and about this morning and just seen a mum with a toddler walking along having a lovely time with running around stopping and starting while the dad followed behind with an empty pram, the baby bag and the dog.

I know it may be petty but AIBU in taking some silent delight in seeing a mum actually get to be the carefree fun parent? 😳

I hope that woman has a lovely rest of her day😂

Not at all! I’m used to seeing the women lugging kids in prams with all the bags too! Where do you live?! I’m single and childfree but if the men are helpful where you live I may have to move as they certainly aren’t around my area 😁

It’s all perspective. Having had an XH who would do anything other than actually parent, I read that description as quite sad that he wasn’t involved!

I agree with pp that you could interpret this as the dad being disengaged from his child. Nice that you had a positive response to it though OP! It's good to be optimistic.

Possibly haha I think the mum and toddler playing around was just a lovely sight to see on a Saturday morning :)
