I genuinely feel miserable about the weather! It’s not usually this bad on the cusp of may is it? Or am I mis remembering? I have a toddler and yes I know you cab still go outside in the rain but it’s not enjoyable (for me anyway!)

Aww Prince RIP 🥺

Google display shows my photo memories and my children are in shorts and t-shirts and right now it's freezing and I'm still using my heated throw :/

So weirdly April is actually statistically one of the driest months but the ‘April showers’ phenomenon is real. It’s something to do with the change in the Gulf Stream at this time of year, so while it seems to rain loads it’s actually lots of short showery periods. At the same time the sun is surprisingly strong when it does come out (same strength as late Aug, despite lower temps). I don’t know where you are in the country but I’m in Oxfordshire and while today has been overcast & gloomy, yesterday was bright and warm (in the sun) as tomorrow is due to be.

The trick at this time of year is to go out any time you see the sun but always carry waterproofs and have a plan to either head home or duck into a cafe/library/etc if it pelts down.

I was talking about this today funnily enough! I always thought it was warm in April but I'm clearly misremembering!

Its been a long old winter but there is lifht at the end of the tunnel
