Vinted rant - is it even worth bad feedback??

Bought a skirt on Vinted listed as ‘very good’. It’s arrived with some fairly large holes that are pretty obvious when the skirt is on. The sort of holes that will just keep getting bigger the more you wear it.

It only cost a few pounds but I’m still cross! It’s not worth my time paying postage to return but equally I don’t want the seller to think they can get away with sending damaged goods!

AIBU to leave negative feedback? I’m a bit worried about the seller just leaving tit for tat bad feedback for me in return! Part of me thinks I should just let it go - it’s just a couple of pounds! And not worth the aggro! But it’s so annoying when sellers list things incorrectly and get away with it! And if I don’t leave feedback the seller gets automatic five stars!

Press the button for there's an issue with your purchase if you haven't already released the money. You can attach photos. When I had something arrive with holes in I described the problem and put photos on and got a refund straight away I didn't have to return it.

@yarnwitch I haven’t released the money. that’s interesting, thanks. I thought the buyer always had to pay postage to return when they requested a refund.

I have heard of people having to return things, I'm not sure what makes the difference but I definitely didn't. I was expecting a bit of a battle but they just refunded me straight away. I would raise the issue and attach photos as evidence. Even if the item is cheap it's still your money, and it's not always that cheap once you add on the fees and postage. If you're going to do this though just be aware you only get a couple of days before Vinted releases the money and completes the sale automatically.
I wouldn't worry too much about feedback, most people don't take much notice of it on there and you can also leave a comment in response if you were unfairly left bad feedback.

i wish Vinted would clamp down on this - most of the stuff I look at under “very good” you can tell from the pictures is only “good” or “satisfactory” and sometime people put things as “new without tags” then say “only worn twice and washed once” … it’s my current bug bear!

you should click the button for “I have a problem” and upload photos, then the seller won’t get paid
