To order new shoes in pregnancy?

I need some new trainers (noticed my pair have a hole!)

I heard feet go up a size in pregnancy. I don’t really want to waste money if this is going to happen to me soon? I am only 9 weeks though!

My mum and sister never changed feet size but wondering how common it actually is?

I never did in two pregnancies and don’t know anyone who did

I didn't know that was a thing and bought shoes as normal during my pregnancies

I don't know anyone whose feet changed size in pregnancy apart from those who had swollen feet so I'd say you were safe to buy the shoes.

I went up a whole size (and my feet got puffier the more pregnant I got), and know several friends had the same thing. I had to give away or chuck several pairs of lovely shoes I'd recommend getting something that's in the sale or that you won't be too upset if they don't fit for long.

I’m 35 weeks and my feet are very swollen but I’m still wearing my usual size, just with the laces loosened a bit.

I would just get some slip-on Vans or Skechers in your current size as they'll have a bit of stretch just in case. They'll be handy for when you can't reach your laces in your third trimester and also postpartum as they'll be easy to slip on. If your baby is fussy then it really helps to have shoes that you can easily pop on without any faff!

My feet went up a size and didn't go back down. I had to get rid of so many shoes :(
They swelled a little during my second pregnancy, but luckily didn't go up another size!

Mine went up half a size! And my sisters did a whole size. But lots of friends didn't. Maybe don't buy an expensive pair, or go slightly bigger and wear thick socks if it doesn't happen to you?

My feet puffed up for a couple of weeks at the end of my first pregnancy along with my fingers. They went back to normal afterwards and it didn't happen at all in my second pregnancy. If it does happen, it probably won't be for another 7 months or so and is likely to be temporary so I'd get the shoes.

I have heard people say their feet went up a size but it didn’t happen to me. I remember my feet were quite swollen in the very last weeks of pregnancy but that was it.

My feet haven’t changed size permanently, just buy them.

During pregnancy they got so swollen I could exclusively wear flip flops by the end though. It was a sight to behold.

You need as supportive shoes as possible. Don’t worry about whether they go to waste (probably won’t anyway) just take care of your feet and knees as much as you can. I’ve had no end of problems since I was pregnant with DS. If wearing the right shoes then could have saved me half the trouble since I wouldn’t care if I’d outgrown them in two weeks to be perfectly honest.

I'm 22 weeks and have had v swollen feet for 8 weeks now. Also a lot of knee pain so I'd say get some supportive trainers and look after yourself in pregnancy.

Maybe just make sure they have room to accomodate swollen feet.
