To ask you to recommend eye cream for drooping eye lids

LizardOfOz · 13/04/2024 19:46

My upper eye lids have started dropping, only in the last couple of months.

I will spend ££ on a good eye cream but need recommendations before jumping in to the unknown and buying randomly.

Advice appreciated 😁

No advice but following as I feel like I’ve slid off the edge off a cliff recently.

I don’t know if such a cream exists but have you heard of eyelid tape?

it should give a lift

Idontknowwhattodo78 · 13/04/2024 19:58

Prai eye lift cream is good for this. As is very well done Botox.

hoarahloux · 13/04/2024 19:59

Big fan of Benton Fermentation eye cream.

Big fan of Benton Fermentation eye cream.

Me too, it’s fabulous and doesn’t irritate my very sensitive eczema prone eyes.

REN Keep Young & Beautiful

As a previous beauty buyer my opinion is sadly no products can really help. They can give a bit of hydration at most.

youll need some treatments for any noticeable difference

theduchessofspork · 13/04/2024 22:12

I think it’s surgery isn’t it??

I don’t think a cream can help with that.

It’s long established and we’ll tried and tested surgery though, so I have been told..

Does weight loss help?

FusilliNom · 13/04/2024 22:14

There is no eyecream that can help with this

StickyStones · 13/04/2024 23:23

What the @theduchessofspork said, surgery is the thing that'll get rid of them.

Haven't had it myself but I've done a lot of research as a fellow droopy eye-lidded person!

Doratheexplorer1 · 13/04/2024 23:25

ESPA lift and firm eye serum has liquorice which actively lifts the eye. It’s really really good. I would write my qualification for this but it would be too outing 😉😂♥️

Just to clarify… would this cream be good for the bit of eyelid under the brow? Mine droop so that the “eyelid” ie the bit that eyelashes are attached to, are nigh on invisible. It’s so ageing.
Sorry to be so specific… it’s just there’s often confusion as to what people mean by droopy eyelids

It’s a temporary effect (i have the same thing over one eye due to paralysis when I was a child) but it’s a brilliant product. Gives your eyes a more open, lifted look.

the only other thing is a little bit of strategically placed botox to lift the brow. If it really gets you down (which it does me) that can give you your pre drooping eyelids look back.

augustusglupe · 14/04/2024 01:04

Get a blepheroplasty. I had mine done in 2016 and as yet i’ve not aged atall round my eyes - I’m nearly 60.
My jowls are another story though 😄

Ruthietuthie · 14/04/2024 01:07

Blepheroplasty or, maybe (depending on the nature of the droop) well-placed Botox. No cream is going to make a real difference.

Itsokish · 14/04/2024 01:17

I am getting Botox next week because it actually affects my eyesight. If it doesn’t work I will definitely go for surgery! It has really caused so many problems with my left eye closing involuntarily !

CJ0374 · 14/04/2024 01:20

I don't know of any miracle cream that would do anything I'm afraid. You could try tape, but its a short term plaster solution. A blepharoplasty is really the solution- I'm the last to recommend surgery normally. My mum had this done in her 60's and the result was amazing! She looked younger, refreshed and more awake!

Thank you! I assume the person doing the Botox would know where to put it?

OP
If you drink alcohol I recommend you stop.
Since i gave up my slightly droopy eye lids have sprung back

Drinking plenty of water a little more than your usual helps to
Well it did me

I don't drink alcohol but I could definitely drink more water! Thanks, I'll do that

I worked for a specialist consultant opthalmologist, and his words, when I asked if I could prevent my mum's droopy lids were "Save your money for blepharoplasty." It is due to a reduction in collagen in the eyelids and absolutely IS NOT PREVENTABLE WITH ANY CREAM.

LizardOfOz · 14/04/2024 13:58

Thanks to those who gave suggestions. Here's a summary so far
Prai eye lift Cream
Benton Fermentation eye cream
REN keep young and beautiful
ESPA lift and firm eye serum

Also mentioned was eyelid tape, Botox and blepharoplasty. I'm not at the tweakments/surgery stage yet but thank you 😊

Take it from someone who tried everything bleph is the only option.

The first time I had Botox I got a bit of a lift but after the second time it made the droop worse. That is apparently common.
