To think DH friend was rude

A few days ago, DH's friend came over for a couple of hours. We got onto the subject of news, and I was saying how I don't watch, read or listen to it anymore as I find it to always be depressing, especially if it's a horrid news story of someone being hurt as I cannot deal with violence at all.
He then start asking if we had heard about a gruesome attack that happened in the last few weeks, to which myself and DH repeatedly told him not to talk about it or wait until I was not there as I really don't like hearing about those sort of things. He carried on going into detail, speaking over us.
I thought this was really quite rude after we kept telling him to stop
AIBU to not want him over again, or at least for DH to go to his house from now on?

Yes, the friend was rude. And unfeeling.

But I also think it's odd to never ever listen to/read/watch any news at all.
How do you get informed about what's happening in your community/society/country? Does you DH keep you informed about things?

But of course, it's completely your choice, and your mental health is the biggest priority, I can understand that.

DH listens to the radio at work and tells me bits and pieces he hears, and I keep up to date with basic news via groups and community meet ups. It's just hearing about horrific or violent acts really plays on my mind for weeks. I know I'm overly sensitive with this sort of thing, and it is something I am trying to overcome. 🙂

Why didn't your husband put him in an armlock and frog match him out of your house?
