Adam Crosier's Post Office Scandal Excuses Won't Wash

Adam Crosier was paid £9 Million over Seven years and now claims he didn't know that Postmasters were being prosecuted unjustly. Am I being unreasonable to think that if you are at the top of an organisation which pays you over a million pounds a year that you should know what's going on and his feeble excuses won't wash.

I completely and utterly agree. Unfortunately, he'll get away with it Scott free.

LlynTegid · 12/04/2024 17:42

I wonder if the law should be changed because under his watch there were sub-postmasters who died either from ill health or suicide, so that he could be charged with manslaughter?

KidsandKindness · 12/04/2024 17:43

Always the way! In a position of responsibility, fuck up, result - give them more £millions to get rid of 'em. Disgraceful!

FadedRed · 12/04/2024 17:43

Absolutely agree. Senior heads should have rolled because of this, and the delays and cover-ups are a disgrace to justice in the UK.

ginasevern · 12/04/2024 17:44

Has he got blood on his hands? Yes. Will he face justice? No.

Piggywaspushed · 12/04/2024 17:56

Crozier with a Z. Sorry for being a pedant. I have my reasons!

Apologies. I to am a pedant and should have checked!

*too 🤣

QueenOfHiraeth · 12/04/2024 18:21

It's infuriating but I guess the question is would he have known about the prosecutions? If there is any suggestion that he knew anything then I would throw the book at him but, sometimes, it is people lower down the food chain doing things that those at the top are not aware of

It was probably a pesky autocorrect!

Yes, Crozier absolutely should take a good deal of responsibility. His response is utterly disingenuous.

That’s no excuse. One of the tasks of anyone in a top job should be to enable people to speak truth to power. Instead they, including him, were covering their own backsides.

So he somehow didn't clock that 900 subpostmasters (an unprecedented number in any one demographic, anywhere) were being prosecuted for fraud. Even I remarked on the unusual number of cases being reported in the papers around 10 years ago. Every week I kept reading about yet another one being taken to court whereas before it was almost unheard of. I have absolutely nothing to do with sub post offices, so if I noticed why didn't the people in charge of the organisation.

PassingStranger · 12/04/2024 18:42

He's not going to admit it is he?

Exactly this. 900 postmasters allegedly committing fraud, and nobody stood back and said “hold on, something is not right here”.

just as nobody had the guts to question the collective loss of sanity in 2020
